We sprayed several formulations of fish-based liquids on strips of ground at the Windy Heights Farm pasture. After a few weeks of growth and initial tissue samplings, we let the herd of 4 Belted Galways graze through the field. Gerry noticed them sniffing about, and sure enough, they grazed down the fish-sprayed areas first.

Palatability is important, and eating hay grown in more bioactive rich soil means more nutrients in plant-available form, for better overall health. So, we’re running tests to sort out how far we can drive the nutrient value upon the forage, using fish-based fertilizers. Stay tuned!
